Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED

Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED:

If you are a beginner and want to learn Arduino , but don’t know where to start, I have compiled a list of very simple arduino projects for beginners. All what you need is to get your hands on arduino and after a little practice you will get  complete control over this amazing mini computer thing.

First I will say that you must learn how to blink and LED with arduino. The outcome of this simple arduino project will be:

  • Basic understanding of pin modes of arduino
  • External Hardware interfacing with arduino
  • Pulse width modulation with arduino
  • Using power supply of arduino

Lets start:

Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED

This is one of the very basic arduino projects, so I prefer using arduino UNO. Things you will need:

  • Arduino UNO
  • LED
  • Jumper wires
  • BreadBoard
  • Power supply for arduino , usually 5V through USB cable.

The basic idea behind this basic arduino uno project is to turn a specific pin of arduino On and Off for certain period of times.

Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED Coding:

For this I will make a integer type  variable named “led “. Set this value to 5. This is the variable whose value will be used to set the output pin at arduino.

for this write this code

//Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED Code

int led=0;

After this , we will set the pin mode as output.

void setup()

{ pinMode(led, OUTPUT); }

Now we will set the ON and OFF time for the LED. Say we want to set 2 second as ON and 1 second as OFF time.

void loop()

{ digitalWrite(led, HIGH);

delay(2000);

digitalWrite(led, LOW);

delay(1000); }

The time here is in milliseconds.

Now select the arduino uno from the board and select the serial port to which you have connected your arduino via usb cable. Upload the coding into the arduino uno.

Simple Arduino Projects for Beginners Blinking LED Hardware:

Now its time to set the hardware for this simple arduino projects for beginners blinking LED!

Now as we have set the pin 5 as output pin, connect the LED’s positive terminal to pin 5. Connect negative terminal at the ground pin of the arduino. You can also setup all this on breadoard with the help of jumper wires.

Connect the power supply and see your first ever simple arduino project working!
